This may be hard to believe, but if a natural disaster were to happen and I had one hour to pack my belongings and go, everything that is important to me can fit in my convertible and still have room for someone to sit in the passenger seat.
I’m a simple woman and have never been easily swayed by the things of the world. One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 30: 8-9 says, ‘Remove falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches – feed me with the food allotted to me; lest I be full and deny You, and say, “Who is the Lord?” Or lest I be poor and steal, and profane the name of my God.’
Here are some ways to tell if you love your stuff way too much.
- You measure your worth by what you have.
- You are willing to compromise your morality for more stuff.
- You care more for your stuff than God.
- You violate your budget to get things you do not need.
- You look for things to replace God and fail to use what you already have.
- You fear that God will ask you to give away your stuff.
So, tell me. If a natural disaster were to occur, how many passengers could you fit in your vehicle?
